EMotors, the Filipino makers of Züm electric tricycles, and supply-chain company 2GO are working in unison to help spread environmental awareness and to shed light on the issue of climate change in the country.

The local e-tricycle manufacturer will supply 2GO with zero-emission e-trikes, which will be incorporated into the latter's fleets in various ports where it operates. About a dozen e-trikes will be provided to serve as shuttle service for the local FedEx partner's clients docking onto the port. 2GO will be following in the footsteps of other companies incorporating EMotors' vehicles into their fleets, including Pepsi Philippines and Air21.

"We are proud to partner with innovative and fast-growing companies like 2GO, which took the initiative to 'jump the curve' to the next level by consciously integrating the ZüM electric vehicles in their operations, acting as a platform for community and customer engagement, while building on its brand that is good for business," EMotors president Elizabeth Lee said in a statement.

Meanwhile, 2GO Group vice president Stephen Tagud emphasized the need for companies to begin taking more responsibility for the environment. "Taking care of the environment is everybody's business and responsibility," he shared. "As technology evolves and provides us with a greener alternative, corporations should take advantage of these available technologies as part of their operations. In the end, one cannot hold their breath while counting their money."

Though the number of electric vehicles initially involved in the deal might seem a bit underwhelming, it's still nice to see a company take initiative to make our environment a cleaner and healthier one.
